Wild Mouse

Wild Mouse opened in 2017 as Hersheypark's first coaster built in the wild mouse style, a compact design category defined by small, individual cars that whip through sharp, hairpin switchback turns rather than relying on height, speed, or inversions for intensity. Mack Rides built the layout to feel deliberately unstable at each turn, with the cars appearing to nearly tip outward before snapping back onto the track.

Set inside a carnival-style show building in Midway America, the ride's modest 54-foot height and 28 mph top speed understate how physically intense the switchback turns actually feel to riders — the lateral forces at each hairpin are disproportionate to the ride's overall size, which is the entire point of the wild mouse format.

Wild Mouse filled a gap in Hersheypark's lineup for a compact, high-turnover thrill ride that could be sited on a small footprint within the already dense Midway America area, complementing the park's larger, more sprawling coasters rather than competing directly with them.
