Wildcat's Revenge

The original Wildcat was one of Hersheypark's classic wooden coasters, running for decades in the area now known as Midway America before age and rising maintenance costs led the park to close it in late 2022. Rather than remove the site entirely, the park brought in Rocky Mountain Construction to convert it into a hybrid coaster — a now-familiar path for aging wooden coasters at parks across the country.

Wildcat's Revenge opened in 2023 with RMC's steel I-Box track laid over portions of the retained wooden structure, immediately adding capabilities the original ride never had: four inversions, a zero-g stall, and — most unusually — a completely dark indoor tunnel section partway through the layout. That blacked-out segment is a rare addition for an RMC hybrid, most of which run entirely outdoors, and it gives Wildcat's Revenge a moment of disorientation that goes beyond typical airtime-focused hybrid design.

The 135-foot first drop and 3,510-foot layout make it one of the more substantial hybrid conversions built in the early 2020s, and its combination of RMC's signature airtime with genuine indoor theming has made it a standout addition to Hersheypark's modern coaster lineup.
