Laff Trakk

Laff Trakk opened in 2015 as an indoor spinning coaster, a Mack Rides format where each car sits on a freely rotating base that spins independently of the train's direction along the track. Because the spin depends on how weight is distributed among riders and how the car interacts with each turn, no two rides play out exactly the same way, even on repeat trips through the same layout.

The entire course runs indoors, wrapped in blacklight-lit funhouse scenery — mirrors, painted murals, and quick strobe effects — that would be difficult to build convincingly for an outdoor coaster exposed to daylight and weather. That fully enclosed, themed environment gives Laff Trakk a level of atmospheric immersion that most spinning coasters, which are typically built outdoors with minimal scenery, don't attempt.

As one of the first fully indoor Mack spinning coasters built in the United States, Laff Trakk helped demonstrate that the format could support genuine dark-ride-style theming rather than functioning as a purely mechanical thrill ride, influencing how later spinning coaster installations approached scenery and atmosphere.
