Terms of use

1. The service

Coaster Atlas is an independent roller-coaster reference and companion app. We provide park and ride information, optional ride logging, and subscription features (Coaster Pro). We are not affiliated with Cedar Point, Cedar Fair, RCDB, or any theme park operator unless we explicitly state otherwise in writing.

2. Information accuracy

Ride specifications, operating status, and park information are compiled from public sources and our own research. Every curated record includes source links where possible. Always verify ride availability, height requirements, and safety rules with the park before visiting. We are not liable for outdated or incorrect information.

3. Intellectual property

• Coaster Atlas branding, original text, layout, and software are owned by us or our licensors.
• Park names, ride names, and logos are trademarks of their respective owners. We use them only to identify real-world places and attractions.
• Third-party photos are used under the licenses shown on each image (often Creative Commons). YouTube videos are embedded; we do not host third-party POV files.
• You may not scrape, bulk-download, or republish our curated database without written permission.

4. User accounts

You are responsible for your account credentials and activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and notify us of unauthorized use.

5. User content

If you upload photos, notes, or other content (when that feature is available), you represent that you own or have permission to share it. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display, store, and moderate that content solely to operate the Service. We may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law.

6. Copyright complaints (DMCA)

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to hello@coasteratlas.com including: identification of the work, the URL on our site, your contact information, a statement of good-faith belief, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you are authorized to act. We may remove or disable access to disputed material and terminate repeat infringers where appropriate.

7. Subscriptions (Coaster Pro)

Paid features, pricing, and billing terms will be shown at checkout when subscriptions launch. Subscriptions renew unless canceled according to the payment provider's process. Refunds are handled per the policy displayed at purchase.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Break laws or infringe others' rights.
• Attempt to access systems or data you are not authorized to access.
• Scrape or automate bulk extraction of our database.
• Upload malware, spam, or misleading content.
• Impersonate the Service, a park, or another user.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) FIFTY US DOLLARS ($50).

11. Changes & termination

We may modify these Terms or discontinue the Service. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Continued use after Terms change constitutes acceptance.
