Coney Mall's launch-coaster slot has changed identities twice since it opened, each retheme tied to a different era of Kings Island's marketing strategy rather than any change to the ride itself.

Premier Rides built the LIM-launch coaster in 2005 as The Italian Job, tied to the movie of the same name, sending riders from 0 to 40 mph in three seconds through a parking-garage helix, banked city turns, and a pass through a mock abandoned subway tunnel. Kings Island dropped the film tie-in for the 2008 season and rebranded the ride as Backlot Stunt Coaster, keeping the same movie-backlot chase premise without the licensed story.

For its 20th anniversary in 2025, the park rethemed the ride again as Queen City Stunt Coaster, replacing generic backlot signage with Cincinnati skyline and landmark imagery — the first time the attraction's story was built around its host city rather than a generic Hollywood setting.

The physical layout, trains, and non-stop launch pacing have never changed across all three names; only the story wrapped around the same LIM circuit has been updated to match the park's current marketing.
