Background

Following the success of BomBora's Kiddieland predecessor rides, Lagoon's in-house engineering team took on its second full coaster project in 2011, four years before the same department would design the much larger Cannibal for the park's North Midway.

BomBora's compact steel layout carries small trains through gentle drops and sweeping turns across roughly 1,200 feet of track at a top speed of 35 mph, a scale and intensity purpose-built for Kiddieland's younger riders rather than the thrill-seeking crowd drawn to Lagoon's bigger coasters.

The ride's straightforward, low-key design belies its significance within Lagoon's history: it was an early proof of concept for the park's engineering department handling a full coaster build in-house, a capability the team would later apply at much greater scale.

More than a decade later, BomBora remains a steady Kiddieland fixture, often serving as a child's step up from Puff the Little Fire Dragon on the path toward Lagoon's larger steel credits.
