The Great Pumpkin Coaster gives Planet Snoopy's youngest visitors their very first roller coaster credit, running two gentle turns and a handful of small hills at a 36-inch minimum height that lets parents ride alongside their kids. E&F Miler Industries built the compact steel layout in 1992 as part of the park's ongoing investment in family and children's attractions. Its low speeds and short circuit make it a reliable first coaster before graduating to Woodstock Express or Adventure Express.

Background

Through the early 1990s Kings Island steadily expanded its children's coaster roster, and by 1992 the park wanted an entry-level ride simple enough for a first-time rider well under four feet tall.

E&F Miler Industries built the compact steel layout with just two turns and a handful of small hills, set at a 36-inch minimum height that lets many toddlers ride for the first time, often alongside a parent. Its pumpkin-patch theme has made it a natural fit for the park's seasonal decor changes without needing a full retheme.

Unlike Kings Island's larger children's coasters, the Great Pumpkin Coaster was designed from the outset purely as a first-ride experience rather than a themed narrative attraction, prioritizing gentle pacing over story.

More than three decades later it remains one of the lowest-intensity coaster credits in the park's collection, still serving the same purpose it was built for: a child's very first roller coaster.
