Carowinds' 14th roller coaster and its first true launch coaster inside Camp Snoopy, Snoopy's Racing Railway opened May 24, 2025, using a tire-based launch to send its 14-rider train from zero to 31 mph in seconds. Riders join Engineer Snoopy on a two-lap race to deliver root beer and pizza before Woodstock's mischievous flock of yellow birds causes any more trouble at the Mess Hall. A near-identical ART Engineering installation opened two seasons earlier at Canada's Wonderland, and this version replaced the smaller Snoopy's Junction on the same footprint.

ART Engineering family launch coaster debuts in Camp Snoopy, replacing Snoopy's Junction as the park's third Camp Snoopy coaster and 14th overall.

Background

Snoopy's Racing Railway opened on May 24, 2025, as Carowinds' newest family coaster and the third roller coaster inside Camp Snoopy. Built by German manufacturer ART Engineering, it uses a tire-based launch system to send its single 14-rider train from zero to 31 mph in a matter of seconds — a genuine launch coaster scaled for riders as short as 36 inches when accompanied by a supervising companion.

The ride replaced Snoopy's Junction and leans fully into a Peanuts storyline: Engineer Snoopy has to deliver root beer and pizza to the Mess Hall before Woodstock and his mischievous flock of yellow birds cause any more of a ruckus, and riders complete two full laps of the 804-foot course to help him make it on time. A near-identical installation opened two seasons earlier at Canada's Wonderland, making Carowinds' version the second of the pair.

As the park's 14th roller coaster overall, Snoopy's Racing Railway gave Camp Snoopy its first true launch coaster and extended the area's family-coaster lineup alongside Kiddy Hawk and Wilderness Run.
