Background

Thunder Run opened with Canada's Wonderland in 1981 as a Mack powered mine-train coaster that ducks into Wonder Mountain between outdoor sections.

Powered trains keep the pace consistent through tunnels and outdoor curves, giving families one of the park's longest-running mountain rides. More than four decades later it remains a core International Festival credit beside newer steel thrill coasters.
