Taxi Jam has run in KidZville since 1998, when E&F Miler Industries installed the junior coaster as part of the brand-new children's area built that season. Canada's Wonderland built KidZville as a dedicated children's area for the 1998 season, and Taxi Jam anchored the new land as its junior roller coaster, joining other family-scaled attractions built the same year.

E&F Miler Industries supplied the compact steel layout, sending a small train of taxis and a police car up a short chain lift before a tight oval circuit of gentle drops carries riders back to the station at a top speed of just 22 mph — intensity calibrated specifically for very young, first-time coaster riders rather than older children or adults. Its traffic-themed cars and simple track plan have remained essentially unchanged since the ride's debut alongside the rest of KidZville's original attraction lineup.
