Busch Gardens Williamsburg's 2022 flagship replaced part of Festa Italia's footprint with a launch coaster explicitly designed around Roman mythology at the mechanical level rather than just in signage: Intamin and the park's creative team mapped five gods to five specific ride elements — Pluto to the two inversions, Minerva to the launches and boosts, Mercury to the top speed, Neptune to the height, and Jupiter to the drop. Pantheon had a soft opening on March 4, 2022, ahead of its official public debut on March 25.

The layout fires four separate launches — three forward, one backward — sending trains to 73 mph across 3,328 feet of track, climbing 178 feet before a 95-degree drop and threading through five airtime hills and two inversions, a zero-gravity winder and a zero-gravity stall. At its opening, Busch Gardens and manufacturer Intamin marketed Pantheon as the world's fastest multi-launch coaster of its type, a distinction the ride held until Cedar Point's Top Thrill 2 overtook it in 2024.

USA Today's 10Best Awards named Pantheon one of the most anticipated coasters of 2022 ahead of its debut, and it became the ninth coaster in the park's lineup, further building out Festa Italia alongside neighbors Apollo's Chariot and Tempesto.

Pantheon remains Williamsburg's newest major steel coaster and one of its most mechanically inventive, with a launch sequence unlike anything else in the park's current lineup.
