Paid line-skipping can save a day — or waste money — depending on crowd level, park rules, and your priorities.
Park visits
Express, Flash Pass, Lightning Lane, and similar products let you use a shorter queue for a fee. Rules vary: some are unlimited same-day, others are timed one-time entries, and a few exclude brand-new coasters during debut seasons.
They pay off most on packed Saturdays when standby waits smash your must-ride list. On quieter weekdays, walking standby may be cheaper and nearly as fast. Always read whether the pass stacks with early entry and whether every coaster is included.
Use Coaster Atlas to decide which rides are worth protecting with a pass — your top credits — then buy only if the park’s live wait board and calendar scream crowded. Passes do not replace a good rope-drop plan.
