Background

Woodland Run is Kentucky Kingdom's classic wooden coaster — opened in 1990 as Thunder Run, closed with the Six Flags exit, then restored for the 2014 reopening with subsequent Gravity Group / PTC train work and 2025 drop retracking.

Discovery Meadow renamed it Woodland Run in 2025, framing the stampede-through-the-forest story around roughly 3,000 feet of wood and a ~70-foot drop. It is the park's heritage wood credit beside Kentucky Flyer and Wind Chaser.
