Long before Dolly Parton became a partner in the park in 1986, the property operated as Silver Dollar City Tennessee, and its own construction team — rather than an outside coaster manufacturer — built Blazing Fury as an indoor dark ride and powered coaster hybrid modeled on the sibling "Fire in the Hole" attraction at Silver Dollar City's original Missouri park.

The ride casts guests as passengers caught in the middle of a burning frontier town, sending trains through darkened indoor scenes filled with animatronic effects, simulated flames, and smoke before a final chase sequence that once ended in a splashdown finale. Because it was designed and built entirely in-house rather than purchased from a coaster manufacturer, Blazing Fury reflects the same DIY spirit that shaped several of the park's earliest attractions.
