Copenhagen’s oldest gate is trading one familiar look for another mood entirely, and the change comes with two new attractions that deepen the district beyond a simple repaint.

Tivoli Gardens is about to give one of its most recognizable coasters a new face, and the surrounding corner of the park is changing with it. Later this month, the Copenhagen park will open Hikari, a Japanese-inspired section that rethemes the B&M floorless coaster The Demon and adds two fresh attractions to the mix.
The coaster’s new identity is only part of the story. Hikari also brings Hotel Hikari, a Gosetto funhouse, and Typhoon’s Eye, an SBF Visa Zero Gravity flat ride, giving the area more than a single headline draw. For coaster fans, the move is interesting because Tivoli isn’t just dressing up an existing ride; it’s reframing the whole experience around a new atmosphere and a broader attraction package. That makes the section feel like a destination instead of a cosmetic overlay.
The first photos and details suggest Tivoli is leaning hard into theme rather than trying to hide the coaster’s past. That matters at a park where presentation has always been part of the appeal, and where a well-known steel ride can become something fresh again if the setting carries enough weight. Hikari should do exactly that when it opens later this month at Tivoli Gardens.
