S&S (often tagged S&S Sansei in modern credits) built a reputation on compressed-air launches and vertical sky-tower style thrills, then expanded into free-spinning and 4D-style coasters. The signature feel is sudden acceleration — a punchy launch that does not ramp like some LSM systems.
Air launches can sound dramatic and feel abrupt. Free-spin models add randomness: the same layout yields different seat experiences depending on how the cars rotate. That makes logging notes especially useful — your second ride may not match the first.
On manufacturer filters, group S&S with other launch builders but expect a different launch character than Intamin hydraulics or Premier LIM/LSM packages. Read the launch type on the coaster page when it is available under Pro engineering fields.
