The train is always falling — track shape decides which direction that pull becomes force on your body.

A coaster train never “defies” gravity. After the launch or lift, gravity constantly pulls the train toward Earth. The track’s job is to redirect that pull into forward motion, drops, and curves.

On a hill crest you may feel light because the track curves away from you faster than gravity pulls you down — that is airtime. In a loop, the track pushes up and inward so the combined force keeps you in the seat.

Thinking in terms of gravity helps explain why stats alone mislead: a short drop at the right angle can feel brutal while a tall lift produces a calmer descent if the shaping spreads force over time.
