Downtime and temporary closures

Why a coaster goes down mid-day — and how to rebuild your plan without wasting the visit.

Park visits

Rides stop for weather, evacs, sensor faults, restraint checks, and routine block resets. A “temporary closure” on the park app is not always a full-day outage — many reopen within an hour.

Build a day plan that survives one headliner going down: keep a nearby backup credit and a flat or show within a short walk. Recheck the board before hiking across the park. If a new coaster is in its first season, budget extra downtime.

Official park apps beat rumor. Log the miss if you care about trip history, then move on — stubbornly camping a closed entrance rarely beats riding something else.
